I spent summer 2015 as part of the Search & Discovery team at YouTube in San Bruno. To understand how to improve YouTube, I conducted a task-based diary study with reenactment sessions where participants completed tasks either alone or co-watching with someone else. My findings showed the complex journey users take and potential opportunities for improving the user experience of co-watching. I will be presenting the paper, "Challenges on the Journey to Co-Watching YouTube" at CSCW 2017 in Portland.
While at YouTube, I also volunteered as an Event Coordinator for the XX+UX event hosted in our office with the theme "Fitting in and Standing out." I worked with members of the team at Google and YouTube and helped to organize the activity, catering, and presentations.
