The making of the new Airbnb mobile app

As part of the Host & Homes team at Airbnb, I worked on the mobile app for hosts. I worked closely with a designer to conduct tactical research on iterative designs of the app to arrive at the re-design of the Stats tab. My methods included interview intercept, an Ethnio survey on mobile, and three rounds of in-lab user testing including one off-site in Portland. The co-design process was described in an Airbnb blog post and the new app will be launched over the next few months.

Simultaneously, I conducted foundational research to inform the future work of the mobile host design team. For this study, I analyzed 100+ dscout diary study entries and video snippets on time management. I synthesized my findings into a hierarchy of needs for hosts and design guidelines. I presented this work to several different teams.
